Bio:

Shurui was born into a small house in the wilderness, far away from people. He never understood why, and it left him feeling lonely. The closest thing he had to friends so far out there was the sick wild animals he found and nursed back to health. One of the animals was a snowy owl he raised from a chick and that stayed with him. At the age of six, there was an attack made at his home, dark creatures he'd soon learn were Heartless tried to caputre him and his parents. His family was from a line of magical beings thought to have been driven to extinction, the Lightwalkers. They were a group of special mystics that could create light pathways connecting to other worlds, similar to the corridors of darkness. However, these pathways could not be entered by dark beings and destroyed them if they tried. Because such beings would give warriors of light an advantage, Lightwalkers were hunted down and killed, crippling the Lights. Shurui and his family were not direct descendants, but they showed signs of having some blood relation to the Lightwalkers of old. It was enough to spark an attack, but not to kill them. The one that sent the Heartless intended to use one of the family to access the light pathways, taint them so the darkness would have more ways to launch attacks on other worlds. Shurui's parents fought back best they could, but the father fell first, the injured mother fleeing with her child. In her last moments, Tora used what was left of her magic to create a special curse mark around Shurui's neck. The mark prevented Shurui from speaking, and she hoped it would ensure the he couldn't recite the words needed to open the pathways. The curse mark could be removed, but it could take years for those who didn't know the original language and magic needed for it. Tora hoped this would buy Shurui time to be rescued or escape from the darkness. Shurui cried in silence as he watched his mother slip away in front of him, barely putting up a fight as the heartless started taking him away. He was met at a darkness door by Maleficent, who was irritated by the mark on his neck, but had confidence she could remove it, if only long enough to claim the light pathways. Shurui grew angry, suddenly filling up with magic and lashing out at the Heartless holding him, destroying them with a pair of wings that sprouted from his back. The boy was shocked for a moment before his anger returned and he focused on Maleficent. He tried to attack her, but she knocked him back. The boy used his wings to fly away, screaming in his head for a way to get away fom her. To his surprise, a door of light opened in front of him and he disappeared through it to a place he had never seen before, Traverse Town. While most of the Lightwalkers needed to recite spells to attack, defend and open the light pathway, Shurui was one of the rare few that had nature talent for magic and didn't need words. However, Shurui didn't know how to open the pathway when he wanted to...yet. At such a young age, it only happened because his self preservation instincts activated it to save him. For a while, the boy wandered the streets of Traverse Town and lived off them, with no voice to be able to ask for help, and having had no real education. Thankfully, an old couple who lost their home to the darkness and moved to Traverse Town took pity on him and welcomed him in. For a
few years, Shurui's life was peaceful again and he was happy with his little adopted family. Then at age 16, somehow, Maleficent found out where he was and tried to capture him again. This time however, Shurui was more prepared for her, having been practising with his abilities for 10 years. He put up a decent fight, protecting his adoptive parents, but the battle was growing violent and dangerous. Shurui decided the best thing he could do was lead Maleficent away, so he opened the pathway for the first time on his own and fled to another world. For over a year, he kept moving, kept away from Maleficent and the Heartless. Then one day, he came to a new place called Twilight Town and met three strange people on the run as well. They were Tochi, Meian and Shinwa. It took a little time for them to start connecting, but once they understood the situation, they welcomed Shurui. Shurui's ability allowed the group to travel to other worlds safely to help those in need. A year after that, the group met up with Tensai, Tochi and Meian's adopted brother from the darkness.
